FANTA’S IMMERSIVE 360 GAME EXPERIENCE CHALLENGES PLAYERS TO ESCAPE THE AFTERLIFE TRAIN FROM THE ‘BEETLEJUICE BEETLEJUICE’ MOVIE BY UNCOVERING CLUES AND SOLVING PUZZLES.

To access the game, players could scan a QR code on a can of limited-edition Beetlejuice Fanta or find it on the Coca-Cola OneXP app.

Escape the Afterlife Train

For the launch of the limited-edition Beetlejuice Fanta flavor, we created a 360 mobile game that immersed players in the world of Fanta and Beetlejuice. The game, Escape the Afterlife Train, transformed the train from the Beetlejuice sequel into a spooky playground filled with surprises, mini games, and more. Players traveled from train car to train car uncovering clues and solving puzzles to escape the Afterlife Train.

the fanta beetlejuice afterlife game has five phases:

the platform

The platform welcomed players to the game and onto the Afterlife Train. We created a conductor that looked like a ‘shrinker’ from the Beetlejuice movies.

The Deetz Attic

We recreated the attic from the Beetlejuice movie. Players needed to find clues in the attic to find a piece of chalk that would lead them to the following cart.

the graveyard

We reimagined the graveyard, Beetlejuice’s favorite hangout spot. In the graveyard, players needed to find five Fanta cans and decipher a secret code to exit. The graveyard was illuminated by a single flashlight that players could swing around by moving their mobile device.

saturn

We recreated Saturn, the land of sandworms, in the final train car. Players needed to fight off the sandworm to escape. At the end, a door appeared to give you an escape route or trap you in the Afterlife Train for eternity.

As a prize for completing the game, players could use an interactive AR filter to transform into Beetlejuice.
